About Me and How I Can Help You

Here's my background and how it benefits my clients, as well as some testimonials. But first I'd like to tell you the story behind what I do, why, and how Life Integration goes beyond life planning.

My life changed dramatically several years ago because of Life Planning and a model called the Wheel of Life. I achieved incredible goals, was living the life of my dreams, pretty much had it all. And then something went wrong and I wasn't happy.

So back to the drawing board, developing a new plan, setting new goals, doing, doing, doing, achieving new goals and dreams, and guess what…. Something went wrong and I wasn't happy.

After a few more go-rounds of this and making practically every mistake in the book, I finally figured it out. Traditional Life Planning was designed for who we were and how we lived 30 years ago!! It just doesn't work in the electronically driven, information overloaded, 24-7 world of today.

So I've come up with a way to live my life more successfully and happily. I've developed a pretty simple model, the Fan of Life©, based on how we live today and who we really are. And because I like metaphors, I based the model on a ceiling fan.

The blades are the 5 principal areas of life. The motor is you, your talents, skills, abilities, achievements, everything you do. Most people try to get the fan (their life) to work with just those pieces. The missing piece in the middle is the energy connection. That's You, your higher potential, the you of your dreams. Connect with that and the blades move together and create a positive energy that can have far-reaching effect.

My Background

I have a broad background and many experiences to draw from when working with clients. I could be the poster child for Career Change and it was always by choice. I love a challenge, enjoy learning new things, and I'm intrigued by new opportunities and possibilities. I also believe that work is meant to be fun and fulfilling and we're meant to follow our bliss.

I've taught and held administrative positions on the college level and have been a financial planner. I've worked in professional and organizational development within the banking industry. That included training and coaching in the areas of management and leadership development, pre-retirement planning, and career transition and planning.

I started my own training and coaching business in 1991. Since then I've worked with many individuals, corporations, and not-for-profits. I've been certified with 3 career transition companies, including Lee Hecht Harrison and Right Management and presented hundreds of workshops on financial education for a company called Lifetime Wealth Principles. As an independent consultant with the International Center for Management Education I participated in the University of Oxford (England) Management Awards Program. Through this program, I worked as a Developmental Advisor/Coach to managers in Fortune 500 companies.I’ve also had the opportunity to serve as one of the coaches with Coaching.com, a Ken Blanchard Company.

My formal education includes an undergraduate degree in business/marketing and graduate degrees in counseling psych. I'm a graduate of CoachU and a member of the Graduate School of Coaching and Coachville.

I believe in partnering and developing strategic alliances. Why play the Lone Ranger and re-recreate the wheel that someone else has already developed. So I've partnered with other coaches and am licensed to do programs through Get Clients Now!, Career Clarity, plus the many programs available through the Graduate School of Coaching. I also have a network of coaches who work with me on large projects.

For fun I like to play golf. This evolved into a market niche when I wrote a book on Business Golf. If you're a golfer, check out my other website www.BizGolf.com. I love to read, paint, and enjoy nature. I'm fascinated by people and truly believe that we learn from each other, no matter when our paths cross or for how long. I'm also a bit of a ham and when I lived in New York did extra work as a hobby. You may still be able to catch me on some of the old reruns of Law & Order!

I currently live in Southeastern Michigan with a Norwegian Forest Cat named Mikey and have a wonderful friendship with my ex-husband in Long Island.

And all this is important only because of what it allows me to provide for you!!
